1. Who we are and scope
This Privacy Policy describes how [Liquidate operating entity] ("Liquidate," "we," "us") handles information in connection with the Liquidate website, application, and related services (the "Service"). It does not cover third parties we do not control — such as trading venues (e.g., Hyperliquid), wallet providers, blockchains, or external sites — which have their own privacy practices.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide or connect
- Wallet address. When you connect a wallet and sign in, we receive your public wallet address and signature. We never receive or store your private keys or seed phrase.
- Identity / KYC information. Where required (for example, to claim prizes above a threshold, or for compliance), we or our verification providers may collect identity details and documents you submit.
- Communications. Information you provide when you contact support, raise a dispute, apply to be a creator, or sign up for updates.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data. Log data, IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, and interactions, collected via cookies and similar technologies.
- Approximate location. Derived from your IP address and used to enforce geographic eligibility and sanctions controls.
On-chain information
- Public blockchain data. Activity associated with your wallet — such as registrations, trades reported by venues, settlement, and prize claims — is recorded on public blockchains. This data is public, pseudonymous, and outside our control (see Section 7).
3. How we use information
- provide, operate, and secure the Service, including authentication, tournaments, scoring, and settlement;
- determine eligibility and enforce compliance — age, geographic restrictions, sanctions and prohibited-party screening, and KYC for prize claims;
- detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, cheating, market manipulation, and abuse, and maintain audit trails for disqualifications;
- communicate with you about your account, tournaments, support requests, disputes, and (with your consent where required) updates;
- comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and establish or defend legal claims; and
- measure and improve the Service.
4. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you request); compliance with legal obligations (AML, sanctions, tax, record-keeping); our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improving the Service), balanced against your rights; and consent where required (e.g., certain cookies or marketing), which you may withdraw at any time.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, security, preferences, and analytics. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings or any consent tool we provide. Some features may not work without essential cookies.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers / processors that help us run the Service (e.g., hosting, analytics, identity verification, sanctions screening), under contracts limiting their use of the data;
- Legal, compliance, and safety — with regulators, law enforcement, or others where required by law or to enforce our Terms, protect rights and safety, or investigate fraud or abuse;
- Corporate transactions — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy; and
- Public blockchains — by design, on-chain activity is publicly visible (Section 7).
7. Blockchain data is public and immutable
Transactions you make through the Service are recorded on public blockchains. That information — including your wallet address and associated activity — is public, permanent, and cannot be changed or deleted by us or anyone. Anyone may view and analyze it, and it may be correlated with your identity by third parties. Consider this before transacting.
8. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate or legal purposes — for example, compliance, audit, dispute resolution, and record-keeping obligations — after which we delete or anonymize it. On-chain data persists on the blockchain indefinitely and is not within our control.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and our non-custodial model means the security of your wallet, keys, and devices is your responsibility. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than yours, which may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers.
11. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. California residents have rights to know, delete, and opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell it) and not to be discriminated against for exercising rights. To exercise rights, contact us using Section 13; we may need to verify your identity.
Note: we cannot alter or erase information recorded on public blockchains, and we may need to retain certain information to meet legal obligations even after a request.
12. Children
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
13. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy from time to time; we will revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact our data protection contact at privacy@liquidate.gg or [Liquidate operating entity], [registered address].
